How it’s counted
From the 2026 squads each programme publishes on its own athletics site. A player in their final year has one year of eligibility left, so on current form they leave before a recruit joining in fall 2027 arrives. A redshirt year doesn’t change this: a redshirt senior leaves when a senior does.
Programmes are ranked by how many players at your position are in their final year. Where two are level, the one with fewer staying at your position comes first, so losing 3 goalkeepers with 1 staying ranks above losing 3 with 3 staying. A player listed at two positions, such as a midfielder-defender, counts at both.
9 programmes publish no class years, so they aren’t ranked. Squads change through the year, and a player can stay for a fifth year or leave early. Always confirm with the programme before you decide.
